1. What a reservation is
These Reservation Terms apply when you request a reservation for a Roadster Series One vehicle from Roadster (“we” or “us”). Please read them carefully.
A reservation does not transfer any ownership interest in a vehicle, and does not lock in price, specifications, options or delivery timing.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States.
- You may hold up to two (2) reservations. We may decline additional or duplicate reservations.
- Reservations must be made in your own name, using accurate information.
3. Deposit
- After you submit a reservation request, we will email you a secure link to pay a reservation deposit of $1,000 (US dollars). Your reservation is confirmed when the deposit is received and we send you a reservation number.
- Deposits are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not see or store your full card number.
- Unless applicable law requires otherwise, deposits are not held in trust or escrow and do not earn interest.
- If you sign a purchase agreement, your deposit will be credited toward the vehicle price.
4. Cancellation and refunds
Your deposit is fully refundable at any time before you sign a purchase agreement. To cancel, email [email protected] from the email address on your reservation, or reply to your reservation confirmation. We will refund the full deposit, without fees or deductions, to your original payment method, normally within 10 business days. Your bank may take additional time to post the refund.
We will also refund your deposit in full if:
- we cancel or indefinitely suspend the Series One program;
- we are unable to sell or deliver the vehicle in your state; or
- we cancel your reservation under Section 8.
If you do not respond to your order invitation within 30 days after we send it (and after at least one reminder), we may cancel your reservation and refund your deposit in full.
5. Order invitations and queue
When order books open, we will invite reservation holders to configure and order in the sequence in which deposits were received, subject to production planning, configuration availability and the state where the vehicle will be delivered. Your order invitation will include confirmed pricing, specifications, options and an estimated delivery window before you are asked to commit.
6. Pricing and specifications
Prices shown on the Site are estimated manufacturer’s suggested retail prices, and exclude destination charges, taxes, title, registration, documentation and other fees. Final pricing, specifications and features will be stated in your purchase agreement and may differ from what is shown on the Site. You are never obligated to buy at a price you have not agreed to.
7. State law and how the sale is completed
Motor vehicle sales are regulated by state law. Depending on your state, the sale may be completed directly with us or through a licensed dealer or other licensed entity. We will explain the options for your state before you order. If we cannot lawfully complete a sale in your state, we will refund your deposit in full.
8. Our right to decline or cancel
We may decline or cancel a reservation, with a full refund, if we reasonably believe it is fraudulent, a duplicate, made for resale, made in breach of these Reservation Terms or our Terms of Use, or if the information provided is inaccurate.
9. No transfer or resale
Reservations are personal to you. They may not be sold, transferred or assigned, except that we may, at our discretion, transfer a reservation to a spouse or immediate family member on written request.
10. Communications
By reserving, you agree that we may contact you by email (and, if you provided one, by phone) about your reservation, including deposit links, order invitations, program updates and delivery planning. These are service messages, not marketing. Marketing emails are sent only if you opt in and can be stopped at any time. We do not send marketing text messages.
11. Privacy
We handle your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Liability, governing law and changes
Except for the refund of your deposit as described above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability in connection with a reservation will not exceed the amount of your deposit. These Reservation Terms are governed by applicable US federal law and the laws of your state of residence. The dispute provisions of our Terms of Use apply.
We may update these Reservation Terms. Changes will not reduce your right to a full refund of a deposit paid before the change. If a change materially affects existing reservations, we will email you, and you may cancel for a full refund.
